V-Ray
An industry-standard physically based renderer used with 3ds Max, SketchUp and others for photoreal CGI.
In depth
V-Ray, developed by Chaos, is one of the most widely used production renderers in architecture and interior visualization. It simulates light physically — global illumination, reflections, refraction, subsurface scattering — to produce images indistinguishable from photographs. The cost is time and expertise: a single high-resolution interior scene can take from a few to 24 hours to render and requires a trained 3D artist. It remains the reference for cases where absolute control and physical accuracy matter more than turnaround.
Examples
- 1.A photoreal kitchen scene rendered overnight for a print catalogue
- 2.Physically accurate daylight studies across different sun positions
Morf Vision is a platform that automates interior design using the technologies described above.
